How important is it to conduct DSV Audit for R2 SERI Certification or R2 Implementation ?
Downstream audits are important in R2 SERI Certification process. Failure to understand the processes of your downstream vendors could lead to confusions in the recycling chain. Most brokers involved in buying bulk e-waste or irrerpairable electronic equipments knowingly or unknowingly dispose the same to unauthorised companies or individuals for disposal.
Although the hierarchy of recycling is RRD i.e Reuse, Recover and Dispose, most repair and refurbishers do not understand the requirements or the difference between these terminologies.
However good R2 SERI Certified companies are, it is of utmost importance to verify compliance and conformance of vendors to the last process of the process flow chart defined.
